The Pirates claimed their first win of the 2025/26 season in front of almost 7,000 fans at The Mem, with Gasheads lifted off their seats just past the half-hour mark when Alfie Kilgour flicked a header towards Ellis Harrison, who struck his first-time effort past Jake Eastwood for his 50th goal for the Gas.
After defending for most of the opening 45 minutes, Cambridge came out in the second half looking for a leveller. However, a disciplined and resilient defensive display from the Pirates stopped them in their tracks, with Darrell Clarke's men keeping a clean sheet on their way to three points.
Gasheads across The Mem cheered the team all the way, with Head Coach Clarke dedicating the victory after the game to the Rovers fans.
