Fabrizio Cavegn only joined Bristol Rovers in August 2025, but he has been in English football long enough to know that everyone can beat everyone in Sky Bet League Two.
Shrewsbury Town have shown exactly that this season. Salop have won just three of their opening ten fixtures in the fourth tier, but two of their triumphs have come against Salford City and Grimsby Town, two early favourites for promotion this campaign.
The Shrews will be a tough test for the Gas, who have won five and lost five so far and are winless on the road since beating Crawley Town in August. Nevertheless, Cavegn's best memory at the Gas came at the Croud Meadow. Steve Evans was looking for his first win in charge of the Pirates, and Cavegn was the difference maker, scoring his first professional hat-trick in a 3-0 win to send the Gasheads home happy.
Cavegn looked back on his memories against Shrewsbury, previewed the upcoming game and reflected on his season so far to the media...
BARNET REFLECTIONS
"Everyone knows we lost the match three-one. I think we were good in the game, and it was one-nil, and we conceded a goal you can't concede like that. I think the one-one put us a little bit under pressure, and we conceded the second goal. After one-one was not good enough."
MENTALITY OF THE PLAYERS AFTER DEFEATS
"It's how you reflect on it and go into the next game. This week, we worked hard, and everyone knows we've got an away game now. So, everyone will go there with a high mentality, and we want to win the game."
REFLECTIONS ON HIS SEASON SO FAR
"I've scored three goals and have one assist. If someone asks me, I am not saying I am happy because, as a striker, you get chances and you can score more than you did. So, it's alright. I could have scored more, but I work hard every week, and I try to work hard every game so I can score and help the team win games."
MEMORIES OF HIS HAT-TRICK AGAINST THE SHREWS
"Going into the stadium where you have scored a hat-trick is always a nice feeling. I have in my head that I scored a hat-trick there, but it's another game, and we need to do it again. It was my first professional hat-trick. So, it will stay in my big memories."
SHREWSBURY TOWN PREVIEW
"I've been here for a long time now. It's not an easy league. So, everyone can beat everyone. On the day, you have to be switched on, stay focused, do your game and work hard so you can beat everyone in this league."
PLAYING WITH TO ELLIS HARRISON
"It's important because I know we've got a target man up front, so then I can run behind him, on the side of him, run onto flick-ons and work in behind."
DIFFERENCE IN PLAYING UP FRONT ALONE COMPARED TO WITH SOMEONE
"I think if I play on my own in the striker position, it's my job. If there are two, when we play long balls to the target man like Ellis or Joe, they can flick on the balls, and I'm there, and I'm the guy that wants the ball on the floor and goes behind.
"If I am on my own, I sometimes do everything. I have to try to get on the long balls and run in behind as well. So, it's harder when I am on my own."
