The visitors came into the contest off the back of an impressive 3-1 away win over Barnet on Tuesday and came close to scoring within two minutes. Aaron Drinan, often on the end of chances, rolled the ball across to Matty Virtue, but he directed his close-range effort wide of the right post.
Virtue then found Drinan soon after, with the striker racing one-on-one with Brad Young before forcing the goalkeeper into a save down to his left. Rovers then had two first-half chances, with Connor Ripley denying Tom James and Fabrizio Cavegn.
The Pirates controlled the second half, with Clinton Mola and Ciarán Kelly missing the target with half-chances before Kelly then stopped a goal at the other end, getting to the ball before Antwoine Hackford, who almost had the opportunity to shoot from close range. As a result, the points were shared at The Memorial Stadium, ending the Gas' four-game losing run.
