Abingdon United vs Bristol Rovers | Women’s FA Cup, The Northcourt, Sunday 25th October, 14:00 KO
Bristol Rovers Women are back on the road this weekend as they take on Abingdon United at The Northcourt for the second time in three weeks.
The Gas Girls will continue their FA Cup journey with the first round proper tie in Oxfordshire, just a fortnight after triumphing against the Yellows in the league thanks to goals from striking duo Ellie Preece and Libby Davies.
Last weekend, Rovers had the chance to build on that and make it four successive league wins, however were unfortunately beaten by Keynsham Town as the visitors came from behind to win 3-2 and put an end to that run.
Back in cup action, Nathan Hallett-Young will be looking for an immediate bounce back from his side as they look to progress in the competition.

Opposition…
Since last facing the Gas, Abingdon have beaten bottom side Ascot United 2-1 at home, as Erin Hartigan grabbed both, including a late penalty. That keeps the Yellows closely on Rovers’ tail in sixth, with the sides level on points and separated by just three goals.
Abingdon had no trouble in their final qualifying fixture to set up this weekend’s tie, easing through to the next round of the FA Cup with a comfortable 5-0 win away to seventh-tier Tonbridge Angels. Hartigan managed a hat-trick, as Mollie Dyer and Molly Lygo also got on the scoresheet.
Before that, the Yellows had endured a 2-1 defeat on the road to MK Dons in the final group game of the FAWNL Cup to keep them stuck to the bottom of the table. Despite Dyer’s audacious lob, earlier 8-0 and 7-0 losses to Oxford United and Arsenal PGA left her side winless in Group K.
Last Season…
Much like their current position, Abingdon finished the 2025/26 campaign in sixth, albeit with a -13 goal difference, putting them 14 points behind the Gas in fourth.
And it was Rovers who came out on top across the two meetings in the season, going unbeaten with one win and a draw.
When Abingdon visited The Memorial Stadium last September, Laura Barrett’s 78th minute goal was enough to secure all three points for the hosts. In March’s return fixture, Kelly Highman opened the scoring before Libby Gilmore’s equaliser meant the spoils were shared in Oxfordshire.
