Daniel Ellison scores in Aldershot's Wembley win

Dan Ellison

Bristol Rovers loanee Daniel Ellison scored in Aldershot Town's 3-0 victory over Spennymoor Town in the Isuzu FA Trophy final.

The Shots, who were playing at Wembley Stadium for the first time after beating Woking in the semi-final, brought 18,000 fans to London and took the lead when Jack Barham scored just after half-time.

Ellison then got in on the act to double Aldershot's lead, rushing onto Josh Barrett's corner from the left and flicking his header across the goal and into the bottom corner.

Barrett then added a goal to his earlier assist, thundering his strike from range into the net to help Aldershot on their way to win the Isuzu FA Trophy for the first time in their history.

Ellison signed for the Pirates from Chippenham Town in the summer on a two-year contract with the option of a further season before going out on loan to Aldershot.

The 20-year-old played 22 matches in the National League, starting 18 times, with the Shots finishing in 16th position.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers congratulates Dan and Aldershot for winning the Isuzu FA Trophy.
