Bristol Rovers & LCA To Support Staff Under New Club Registration Scheme

Bristol Rovers and LCA

Bristol Rovers is delighted to announce a partnership with the League Coaches Association (LCA) that will see Rovers become the first club in English football to support its technical staff as part of the new LCA Club Registration Scheme.

In this pioneering move, Bristol Rovers has agreed to subsidise LCA membership for its academy and first-team coaches, analysts, scouts, and technical director for the 2025/26 season.

The LCA Club Registration Scheme is established to help football clubs invest in the welfare and professional growth of their technical staff. Through this scheme, all eligible technical staff at Bristol Rovers are invited to join the LCA, offering them access to a comprehensive range of services designed to support physical and mental health, personal and professional development, and wider employment needs.

LMA Chief Executive Richard Bevan welcomed Bristol Rovers’ commitment: “We are delighted that Bristol Rovers has become the first club in English football to commit to the LCA Club Registration Scheme. Coaches, analysts, scouts, and technical directors are directly responsible for the overall growth and health of the domestic professional game. Therefore, it is extremely important that clubs protect and support this talented workforce, and we are proud to work with Bristol Rovers FC to provide services to club staff and offer career-long support to these individuals.”

Ricky Martin, Director Of Football at Bristol Rovers, highlighted the club’s ethos of staff development: “We recognise the important work that our academy and first-team staff do to support the players in achieving the best possible results for our club. By partnering with the LCA, we have committed to investing in our staff’s development, ensuring they have access to a wide range of relevant CPD programmes and opportunities and we hope they will bring these learnings back to The Quarters and the academy on a daily basis.”

LCA Operations Director Mark Farthing added: “Whilst the LCA has doubled its membership over the past two seasons, we recognise the important role clubs can play in widening access to important services, which enable professionals to stay healthy, happy and hungry to learn and improve throughout their careers.

“We thank Hussain AlSaeed and the Board of Directors for endorsing the LCA Club Registration Scheme and we look forward to playing a supporting role in the careers of Bristol Rovers staff for many years to come.”

The LCA Club Registration Scheme allows clubs in the Premier League, EFL and WSL Football to directly invest in the wellbeing and ongoing professional growth of their key technical staff. With Bristol Rovers leading the way, the LCA aims to expand the reach of the scheme, supporting staff wellbeing and performance throughout men’s and women’s professional football.
