Bristol Rovers are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Bristol Rovers Supporters Club Chairman David Thomas, who has passed away at the age of 62.
He became a Supporters Club committee member in 2014 and became secretary years later before becoming chairman in 2021. David was a pivotal figure in restoring the close relationship between the club and the Supporters Club.
David understood the significance of the Supporters Club and committed his life to benefit the fan experience on top of updating the Supporters Rules as well as producing a paper on the Supporters Club's future.
Many of you will remember David and his wife Angela as he spent his matchdays in and around the Supporters Club cabin as well as Angela raising money by selling 50/50 tickets.
David will be very much missed by not only his family but also the club he loved so dearly and we would like to extend our thoughts to his family at this difficult time.
The club is planning a tribute to remember David in conjunction with his family and the Supporters Club for our match with Lincoln City on Saturday 2nd September.
