Bristol Rovers Football Club can confirm that Academy Manager Chris Hargreaves has left his role by mutual consent.
Chris, who joined Rovers in September 2016, has departed his role within the Academy, which he took up in June 2019.
Chris originally joined the club as our Under-21 coach, where he focused on developing the journey of the young players within the squad into the first team, before taking on the role as Development Squad Manager in 2017. The team won the Central League in 2019 and saw the likes of Alfie Kilgour make their debut for the club.
The former Torquay United boss has also supported the first team, acting as Graham Coughlan's number two during his tenure, helping to guide the club to safety in League One.
In 2019, Chris took up the Academy Manager’s role. In that time, he has aided the progression of numerous prospects within the Academy, including Kyrie Pierre and Brad Burrows, who both signed for Aston Villa in 2021, and also seeing the likes of Luca Hoole and Jed Ward develop and transition into the first-team squad. Chris and his staff have worked tirelessly to develop players throughout the Academy’s age groups.
The club would like to wish Chris the best of luck for the future and thank him for his efforts during his time at The Memorial Stadium.
