Keenan Gough joined Charlton at U9s level and progressed through the academy ranks, helping his side win the U18s' Professional Development League Two South title in the 2022/23 campaign and was awarded the Pierre Bolangi Award.

The award is given to an U18s player who demonstrated Pierre's characteristics of resilience, leadership, optimism and compassion. In June 2023, the midfielder, who can also operate in defence, signed his first professional contract at the Addicks and won the PDL2 again, this time as captain.

He made his professional debut for Charlton against Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup on August 26 2025, and penned a new long-term contract in November. In December, Gough made his Sky Bet Championship debut against Oxford, also featuring against Norwich City and Middlesbrough last term. 

Gough signed for the Gas on loan from Charlton in August 2026 and made his debut in the blue-and-white quarters the next day, coming off the bench in a 1-0 defeat to Peterborough United in Round One of the Carabao Cup before making his first start one week later in Sky Bet League Two away at York City.
