Bobby Kamwa signed for Bristol Rovers on June 26 2026, from fellow Sky Bet League Two side Newport County on a two-year contract.

Kamwa was born in Douala, Cameroon, in 2000, before moving with his family to Leeds in 2009. He joined Leeds United's academy aged 13, making his first senior appearance during a loan move to Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic in the 2021/22 season, coming off the bench in a 2-0 victory over Queen of the South. Overall, he made seven appearances for the Pars. 

The attacker departed Leeds in 2022 and signed for Sky Bet League One side Burton Albion. Kamwa played 47 times across all competitions during his two seasons at the Brewers, netting five goals before moving to Newport in August 2024.

He had his best scoring campaign during the 2024/25 season, bagging nine goals in 43 Sky Bet League Two appearances to finish as the Exiles' top scorer.

Kamwa netted five goals and registered four assists in the fourth tier last term, playing a crucial role in Christian Fuchs' team's battle against relegation. 

Kamwa netted twice in Newport's 3-2 win over Oldham Athletic on the penultimate day of the season, with his match-winning strike in the 18th minute of second-half stoppage time ensuring their survival was in their own hands. The 26-year-old then came up with another important moment in the final match of the campaign, scoring another winner, this time away at Barrow, to help keep Newport in the league.
