Ryan Howley joined Bristol Rovers from Coventry City in July 2025, securing a two-year contract with the Club.
The midfielder trained through Coventry City Academy as a youth, starting at six-years-old. He signed his first professional contract at the Sky Blues in November 2020 and debuted in a Carabao Cup defeat to Northampton Town in August 2021. He showcased his talent in Coventry’s youth system and was awarded the EFL Championship Apprentice of the Season for 2021/22.
Two years later, Howley went on loan to Scottish Premiership club Dundee on a season-long deal. He debuted as a substitute in a league game away to St Johnstone and made 14 appearances for the club before returning to Coventry after his loan spell.
He then went straight back out to Scottish Championship club Ayr United on another season-long loan. He debuted for the Honest Men, coming off the bench in a league draw away to Dunfermline Athletic. In January 2025, Howley was recalled by Coventry, ending his loan with Ayr.
Five months later, Ryan departed the Sky Blues and joined the Gas following a successful trial period.
The midfielder has also represented Wales internationally at the youth level, earning three caps combined across the U19 and U21 teams.
