Macauley Southam-Hales joined Bristol Rovers from League One side Stockport County, signing a two-year contract with the Gas.
Born in Cardiff, he worked his way through the Bluebirds Academy for 12 years before moving to Barry Town.
He made his Fleetwood Town debut in January 2019, joining them for their final match of the 2018-19 season against Wycombe Wanderers.
The defender briefly played for National League side Hartlepool Town in a loan spell in January 2020, making seven appearances for the club.
He then signed for Stockport County, making 33 appearances at Edgeley Park in his maiden campaign and then another 33 in the 2021/22 season. He helped the Hatters win the National League title, with nine assists to his name. Injury cut short his 2022/23 appearances, due to a ruptured patella tendon, but he returned in the 2023/24 season, playing 21 times and helping the club claim the League Two title. He left the club with 123 appearances over five seasons.
Southam-Hales signed for Rovers in June 2025 and made his debut in the blue-and-white quarters in a 3-1 defeat to Chesterfield. The right-back netted his first goal of the season in a 1-0 away win over Grimsby Town, smashing a volley into the bottom corner to help the Gas to a narrow victory.
He played 18 times across all competitions for the Gas in the 2025/26 season, with a serious injury against Notts County in November 2025 sidelining him for an extended period.
