Brad Young joined Bristol Rovers from Leicester City in June 2025, securing a two-year contract with the Club.
The goalkeeper trained through Hartlepool United’s Academy as a teenager and graduated in 2019, signing his first professional contract at the Vic under Craig Hignett. He had a brief spell on loan in National League North with Blyth Spartans in the 2020/2021 season.
Leicester signed Young as part of their U21s academy in 2021, making his debut in a 2-2 draw against Manchester United’s U21s in August 2021. He played regularly for their Premier League 2 side, however never made first-team appearance. Overall, he appeared 48 times in all competitions for the Foxes’ development side.
Young went on loan to Notts County for the first half of the 2022/23 campaign and rejoined Hartlepool in the 2024/25 campaign, playing 12 times on loan with the side until he was recalled to Leicester City in February.
Young moved to the Gas ahead of the 2025/26 season and made his Rovers debut in a 4-4 draw against Tottenham Hotspur U21s in the Vertu Trophy before then keeping back-to-back clean sheets in the competition against Cheltenham Town and Plymouth Argyle.
The shot-stopper made his Sky Bet League Two debut against Newport County, with the Pirates beating local rivals Newport County 3-2. The 24-year-old became a regular under Manager Steve Evans and made 27 appearances across all competitions in his first season at Rovers, keeping nine clean sheets. Young's fine form was rewarded in June, with the goalkeeper signing a new contract at the Gas until 2030.
