Bristol Rovers is pleased to announce the loan signing of Philip Sanyaolu from Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
The winger will spend the 2026/27 campaign with the Pirates and is the Club's twelfth signing of the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old recently signed his first professional contract with the Rs and has been with the first team during pre-season, going on their trip to Austria and scoring in their 7-0 victory over Bromley.
Manager Steve Evans has confirmed that Sanyaolu will be in the squad to face Cobham Next Gen in the EFL Trophy.
"It feels really good to be at Bristol Rovers," said Sanyaolu. "It is my first loan, and I am just excited to get going. I've done my research on the club, and I know about the fans and the squad, and especially being a big League Two team, I know it is the right move for my career.
"I'm a very direct winger. When I get the ball, I always want to make something happen, either a cross, a shot or a good pass in between the lines. The fans are going to see a hard-working winger, and I will leave the pitch with nothing in my legs.
"I'm really excited. I can't wait to play in front of the Gasheads."
Steve Evans said: "Phillip is a young man full of pace, technique, and energy and is ready for the next stage of his development. He's recently been on the bench for the first team at Queens Park Rangers, which is no small feat for a young man. I urge our supporters to watch the highlights of Bromley against QPR a few weeks ago; that is Phillip.
"The boy had several options. We had the opportunity to speak to Phillip, and that seems to have done the trick. We will welcome him, and his hard work begins today.”
Born in 2007, Sanyaolu joined QPR at eight and helped the Development Squad win the London Senior Cup in May and the Premier League Cup in 2025. The winger then signed his first professional contract at the Rs in June 2026 and has been part of the first-team setup during pre-season.
The 18-year-old went on their trip to Austria and has featured in friendly fixtures, starting against Bromley and registering a goal and an assist. Sanyaolu was also an unused substitute in QPR's Carabao Cup Round One match against Milwall.
