Bristol Rovers will aim to get back to winning ways when they travel to Priestfield Stadium for their Sky Bet League Two fixture against Gillingham on Saturday afternoon.
The Pirates' four-game winning streak in the fourth tier ended with a 2-0 away loss to promotion hopefuls Grimsby Town in their last fixture, with Kieran Green and Geza David Turi scoring first-half goals for the Mariners.
The loss dropped Rovers to second in Sky Bet League Two, but they are only behind leaders Barnet on goal difference. The Gas are back on the road for the second successive match and will look to claim their second away win of the campaign after a commanding 2-0 triumph over Crawley Town in late August.
Gillingham have earned back-to-back wins in the fourth tier after victories over Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers.

Travel…
By car from Bristol, take the M4 eastbound towards London and continue past Swindon and Reading. At M25 Junction 15, join the M25 clockwise towards Dartford. Continue around the M25, crossing the Dartford Crossing, and then take the A2 eastbound towards Canterbury/Chatham. Leave the A2 at the junction for the A289/M2, following signs for Gillingham and the Medway Tunnel.
Continue on the A289 through the tunnel and towards Gillingham. At the Strand roundabout, take the exit for Church Street, then drive uphill and cross the railway line. Take the second left after the crossing onto Linden Drive, follow it to the end, and turn right onto Redfern Avenue. Priestfield Stadium (ME7 4DD)will be on your right.
By train, Priestfield Stadium is approximately a ten-minute walk from Gillingham Railway Station.
Opposition…
Gillingham got off to an electric start in the 2025/26 season, winning six and drawing three of their nine games to sit at the top of the table, also setting a club record unbeaten run of 21 games.
However, the Gills ultimately had a disappointing campaign. They finished 17th on 53 points, with Gareth Ainsworth's men hoping to put things right this season. There was a massive overhaul in the summer, with 16 players leaving at the end of their contracts.
As a result, lots of additions to the squad were needed. James Brophy switched to the Gills after playing a vital role in Cambridge United's promotion from Sky Bet League Two last term, with defender Liam Gordon and midfielders Nick Freeman and Kadeem Harris bringing experience to the group.
Ten players have also moved to the Gills who are 23 years old or younger. Five of their six loan additions come under that category, with the youngsters looking to make their mark in the Football League.
The Gills lost their first fixture of the season versus Walsall before drawing three straight games and winning two, with Ainsworth hoping his side are starting to gain momentum.

Rovers have a torrid record against Gillingham, winning two of their previous ten fixtures against the Gills, but both of their triumphs have come away from home.
Jonson Clarke-Harris scored the only goal in the Gas' 1-0 win back in 2019 and also won away at Priestfield Stadium last term. Rovers were behind at half-time after Ronan Hale's penalty, but goals from Alfie Kilgour and Ellis Harrison ensured all three points.
