Last weekend, the Gas Girls showed brilliant character to bounce back from conceding first, going on to beat Marine Academy Plymouth 3-1 thanks to goals from Helena Costa, Gipsy Viveash, and Ruby Scahill.
Rovers continued that form into midweek too as they defeated Keynsham Town to claim three points in the League Cup. Manager Nathan Hallett-Young made eight changes for the tie, but it didn’t stop the host’s rhythm, with Bella Tweddle netting a first-half brace to put her side in a commanding position.
Viveash coolly converted the penalty she won herself to put the Gas 3-1 up at the break, before Lashai Mcnama added a fourth in the second half as Rovers ran out 4-2 winners.
Back in league action, the Gas Girls take on Maidenhead this weekend and hope to keep the good run going.

Maidenhead currently sit 11th in the Division One South-West table after a tricky start to the campaign that’s seen back-to-back defeats and a cup exit. The Magpies are also yet to score in the league this season.
In the opener, Moneyfields ran rampant and put four second-half goals past a leaky Maidenhead defence. Next up were Rovers’ first opponents, Bridgwater United, who ran out 1-0 victors after scoring in the 12th minute.
Midweek saw the return of the cup, and with it the first goals for Maidenhead. Izzy Stockton and Megan Harper undid some of the damage created by Libby Davies’ hat-trick, which included a goal in the first minute, but couldn’t stop tier three side Swindon Town storming to a 5-2 triumph.

2025/26 was a good season for Maidenhead, finishing in fifth after seven wins and eight draws from their 22 matches. In their biggest results of the season, the Magpies recorded 5-0 and 6-0 victories over relegated Portishead Town and Worthing, respectively.
Across both league meetings with Rovers, however, the Gas Girls were unbeaten. A goal from Abbey Hateley and three from Meg Jarvis saw Rovers win 4-1 on December 7, as Chloe Chapman scored for the visitors.
The return fixture fell on the penultimate weekend of the season. Amelie Gould’s brace rescued a point for her side, who twice trailed to Alex Dover and Megan Harper’s efforts.
