Bristol Rovers vs Bridgwater United
FA Women’s National League, Memorial Stadium, Sunday 16th August, 14:00 KO
Bristol Rovers Women kick off their 2026/27 league campaign this Sunday at the Memorial Stadium, as they look to start with a win against Bridgwater United.
Nathan Hallet-Young’s team finalised their summer preparations a fortnight ago by convincingly beating AEK-BOCO 5-2, with Anais Trinci, Bella Tweddle, Amelie Gould, Helena Costa, and Lilia Dempsey all on target.
Pre-season began six weeks prior as Rovers recorded a solid 1-0 win over Lye Town, with Ruby Scahill scoring the only goal of the game. A Trinci double then inspired victory against third-tier side Plymouth Argyle, as Tweddle also netted in the 3-0 triumph, before Rovers finally tasted defeat at the hands of Exeter City.
But with victory more freshly in their minds, the Gas Girls will be aiming to begin the new season in winning fashion.
