Bristol Rovers v Salford City
Sky Bet League Two, The Memorial Stadium, Tuesday 20 October 2026, 7:45pm KO

Bristol Rovers are back in action on Tuesday night when they welcome Sky Bet League Two leaders Salford City to The Memorial Stadium.

The Pirates have lost their previous four league matches but have a chance to put things right at home under the lights. Rovers have been strong at The Mem, winning their first four in the 2026/27 season to record a club-record 11 successive home league victories.

Rovers did lose their previous outing at BS7, falling 3-1 to Barnet. The Gas dominated the contest and led until the final stages, thanks to Ellis Harrison's effort, before the Bees struck three late goals against the run of play.

Salford beat Crawley Town 2-1 in their previous match, with Macaulay Langstaff bagging a brace for the Ammies before Dylan Morgan got one back for the Red Devils.

Opposition...

Salford are top of Sky Bet League Two after collecting 22 points from their first 11 games in the fourth tier. The Ammies lost 3-0 to Notts County in last season's play-off final and, after a slow start to the new campaign, lead the way under new manager Peter Cklamovski.

The Ammies were one of the headline makers in the summer transfer window, bringing in big additions to bolster their promotion hopes. Macaulay Langstaff moved from Sky Bet Championship team Milwall. Luke Molyneux moved to Salford from Sky Bet League One side Doncaster Rovers after eight goals and seven assists in the third tier last term.

Salford also looked up the EFL for defenders Brendan Wiredu, Dan Scarr, Taylor Allen and Will Aimson, who signed from Plymouth Argyle, Wrexham, Wycombe Wanderers and Wigan Athletic, respectively.

Cklamovski's men got off to a slow start in Sky Bet League Two, losing their first three fixtures. However, they have been the ones to watch since, winning seven of their eight matches to lead the table.

Previous Meetings...

Rovers have played Salford four times, losing their previous meeting 1-0 at the Peninsula Stadium, with Ryan Graydon scoring the only goal. The Pirates have won both meetings at The Mem.

Elliot Anderson scored the winner in the first meeting at BS7 in April 2022, with the Gas winning a cracker at home last season. Former Rovers man Matt Butcher gave the Ammies the lead before Ellis Harrison and Fabrizio Cavegn turned the score around.

Salford then won a penalty in the final moments, but Luke Southwood pushed away Luke Garbutt spot-kick to lift the roof off The Mem.
