Fabrizio Cavegn etched his name in Bristol Rovers' history on Saturday afternoon.
The Gas knew a win would secure a club record of 11 straight home league triumphs. Despite dominating most of the contest, Rovers had to be patient to find a breakthrough, with Cavegn's special strike giving a sold-out Memorial Stadium something to remember.
The striker used his instincts, getting on the end of Alfie Kilgour's flick to score with an acrobatic effort. In the 143 years of Rovers, they have never won 11 straight home league games, with Cavegn and the rest of the Rovers players doing something no Gashead has ever witnessed.
Cavegn was full of pride and knew breaking a club record would be something he would look back on at the end of his career, adding that he first knew he had scored when he heard the roar of the fans.

"It was a tough game with a few ups and downs, and then I scored the last goal, the winner, the one-nil. It was a great atmosphere. So, we could celebrate the goal at the end, and we made history here at the Mem."
THE WINNING GOAL
"There were a few people in the box; someone flicked it — I thought it was Alfie — and the ball came to me, and I just wanted to hit it. I hit it with the bicycle kick, and it went in.
"But I haven’t really seen it; I just heard the fans celebrating, so I started celebrating. I heard the fans before I saw the ball inside the goal."
WORKING HARD BEFORE THE GOAL
"I never switched off, so I stayed in the game, and then I scored and could help the team win the game. I think sometimes here in England I learned that you can score goals anyway, and I did it today, and I’m happy."
