Bristol Rovers striker Ellis Harrison has been voted the Christophe Duchamp Player of the Month for April!
The striker scored six goals this month and has been voted by the supporters as the men's first team's star player for his performances.
Harrison received 54 per cent of the vote, beating Brad Young (35 per cent) and Shaq Forde (11 per cent).
He had a fantastic start to April, netting twice in Rovers' 3-2 win away at Harrogate Town. With the Pirates 2-1 down, Harrison finished cleverly from close range to level the score before thumping in a penalty to help the Gas to all three points.
The striker then showed a clinical edge, breaking the deadlock in the Pirates' 3-1 victory over Crawley Town before a hat-trick against Cheltenham Town in front of a sold-out Mem crowd. He netted two headers in the first half before completing his scoring in style, lobbing the ball over goalkeeper Joe Day from just inside the Robins' half to lift the roof off of The Mem.
Harrison was presented with a Christophe Duchamp watch at The Quarters Training Facility in recognition of his success. The forward was pleased to receive the award and said that his hat-trick will be something that he will never forget.
"It's fantastic," he said. "I feel like the team has had a terrific month, winning all five games, and hopefully, we can end the season strongly with another victory on the last day of the season.
"Scoring six goals in April was a great feeling. Starting the month with two goals away at Harrogate in front of the travelling Gasheads gave me plenty of confidence. Then, scoring a hat-trick in the final home match of the season in front of a sold-out Mem crowd is something I will never forget."
