Douglas reaches Rovers appearance milestone

Layah Douglas 100 Appearences

Layah Douglas reached a major milestone for Bristol Rovers Women on Sunday, making her 100th league start in the FA Women’s National League during the Gas’ 1-0 victory over Ascot United.

The defender started and held a clean sheet against the newly promoted Yellawomen, with Abbey Hateley’s ball across the box finished by Chloe Bassett to secure all three points.

Douglas joined the club following the redevelopment of the Women’s team in 2019 and has since been a key figure in the squad. The right-back has played a pivotal role in back-to-back league title wins and a League Cup triumph, while also surpassing 44 appearances in the FA Women’s National League.

Appointed vice-captain by Manager Nathan Hallett-Young, Douglas has also captained the side this season in the absence of club captain Rianne Bourne-Hallett through injury.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers Women congratulates Layah on this outstanding achievement!
