Ciarán Kelly wants his Bristol Rovers team to put things right ahead of the Gas' trip to Gillingham in Sky Bet League Two.
The Pirates fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Grimsby Town last weekend, with Kieran Green and Geza David Turi netting first-half goals for the unbeaten Mariners.
The loss ended the Gas' four-match winning streak that had seen them move to the top of the fourth tier, but they have now dropped to second place behind Barnet on goal difference.
Nevertheless, the squad are looking to react immediately and show the qualities that saw them comfortably beat Newport County, Crawley Town, Colchester United and Rotherham United, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
PUSHING FOR A PLACE IN THE TEAM
"Looking in from afar last season and the last ten games, the boys have done unbelievably well to get numerous wins. They got their chance last year, and they've come into this year with the same mindset.
"It will take time to get into the team. The first game wasn't how we planned it to go, but since then, other than last weekend, I think we've done reasonably well, and the boys have done reasonably well. You have just got to wait for your turn, wait for your chance, and when it comes, hopefully take it, but the boys have been excellent so far."
REPLACING HARBOTTLE AGAINST GRIMSBY
"It's tough for Riley to take with the injury coming off, but the team is there for a reason. Everyone is ready to play, and when you're asked to come on, you've got to do your job and knuckle down. It wasn't the result we wanted; it was a poor performance from the team collectively, but we have a chance to put that right on the weekend."
GETTING THE BASICS RIGHT
"You're not going to win every game, but when the basics like the first contacts, second contacts, duels and challenges are not right, that's when it's worrying, and that's what we looked at. We'll put it right on the weekend, but a performance like that can't happen again, and it won't."
AIMS FOR THE SEASON
"Our main target is to be up and around the playoff positions, automatic or otherwise. You look at the strength in depth in the squad, and it's unbelievable. If someone gets injured, someone can walk into the team easily and not look out of place, and that's what you need for, hopefully, a promotion push."
MOVING TO THE GAS
"I spoke to the gaffer towards the end of last season, and with the run they had, it looked like a place I wanted to be. It just took one conversation after the season ended and everything was done nice and quick, and I'm delighted to be here."
SETTING THE STANDARDS
"I have been in an environment where your standards are pushed every day, and that's the exact same coming here. When we have a performance like the one on the weekend, we know that's not us. So, to have a chance to put it right on the weekend is important and hopefully one we take.
"I think in football, you can't take the highs too high and the lows too low. I think if you dwell on things, that's where your problems are. We spoke about the performance the next day in training, and we'll park that to one side now, and we'll move into Gillingham to try and get the win."
