Bristol Rovers is delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Ryan De Havilland from Sky Bet League One team Peterborough United.

The midfielder is the Pirates' first signing of the January transfer window and has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Club.

The 24-year-old, who will wear the No15 shirt in the blue and white quarters, played 70 times across all competitions for Peterborough, with 50 of those coming in Sky Bet League One.

"It feels really good to be here," he said. "It's been very quick, but I'm very happy to be here and get going. Speaking to the gaffer about the aspirations of the Club, it just felt like the right thing for me right now.

"It's a very busy period, but I'm very happy to get it done so quickly, as it's early in January, so I can just hit the ground running. Bristol Rovers is a massive Club, and it shouldn't be where it is in League Two, and I'll try my best to give my all to get it where it should be."

Head Coach Steve Evans welcomed De Havilland to the Club and is looking forward to working with the new signing.

"I am delighted to welcome Ryan to Bristol Rovers," said Evans. "Ryan will bring energy, tenacity and a good footballing brain to our midfield.

"More importantly, I know Ryan is hungry to succeed and get his talents on display again as part of our team. It's nice to get him in so early in the transfer window, and my thanks go to Ricky Martin. The boy showed a real desire to be here, and I'm looking forward to working with him.”

Director Of Football Ricky Martin said: "We are pleased to welcome Ryan to the Club. After Steve's appointment as Head Coach, it was important to quickly identify our key targets in the transfer window. I'd like to express my thanks to all involved in our recruitment process for moving swiftly to bring Ryan in.

"At 24, Ryan is still young but already has a good level of experience in the EFL, having played 50 times in League One during his time with Peterborough. He is creative and versatile, and we are happy he has chosen to join us as we seek to push up the League Two table."

Born in Wimbledon in June 2001, De Havilland progressed through the age groups at Fulham's academy and had his first taste of senior football on loan at Metropolitan Police, where he made four appearances.

The midfielder departed the Cottagers at the end of the 2020/21 campaign before joining National League outfit Barnet in October 2021. Short-term loans to Hayes & Yeading United and Beaconsfield Town followed before De Havilland made his debut for the Bees, playing 18 times for them in the 2021/22 term.

He became a regular for Barnet the following campaign and started 42 times in the National League, scoring seven times, as the Bees finished 18th in the table.

After playing 64 times across all competitions for Barnet, De Havilland signed for Peterborough for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old appeared 22 times for Posh in Sky Bet League One in his first season and 27 times in his second, playing 70 times across all competitions during his time there. He also lifted the Vertu Trophy with Peterborough in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 season.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to warmly welcome Ryan to the Club and wish him well in his career with the Pirates.
