Bristol Rovers is pleased to confirm the capture of goalkeeper Brad Young.
Shot-stopper Young joins the Gas from Leicester City and has penned a two-year deal with the Club.
The 23-year-old has also previously represented Hartlepool United and Notts County and has been capped at youth level for England.
“The facilities are brilliant. I know Bristol is a lovely place to be, and I’m just excited to get going now,” Young said. “I spoke with the staff and James Bittner; there’s a real project here, something I want to be part of for my development and to go forward over the years in my career.
"We’ve got to push each other every day. We’re there together in the mornings and afternoons, and we’ll be working hard on the pitch and off the pitch as well. Hopefully, we’ll have a successful year."
Head Coach Darrell Clarke welcomed Young to The Memorial Stadium, saying: “I am pleased to bring Brad to the Club. At 23, Brad has got an incredibly high ceiling to keep developing and improving, and we are glad he has chosen to do so here.
“I know James Bittner, Head Of Goalkeeping, is looking forward to working closely with Brad, as are the rest of the coaching department and I.”
Director Of Football Ricky Martin said: “Brad is a young, exciting goalkeeper who has got unbelievable potential. That he was picked up by a Premier League club at such a young age shows his talent and high ceiling, and he has only gotten better in his time working with Leicester.
“He is a strong and commanding shot-stopper with a lot of qualities that are suited to being a top modern-day goalkeeper.”

A product of the Hartlepool United academy, Young enjoyed a brief spell on loan in National League North with Blyth Spartans in the 2020/21 season and joined then-Premier League side Leicester City following a successful trial with the Foxes.
The goalkeeper became a regular in the Leicester U21s, making his debut in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United U21s in August 2021. He would go on to feature 48 times in all competitions for the Foxes’ development side.
Young went on loan to Notts County for the first half of the 2022/23 campaign and then rejoined boyhood club Hartlepool in the 2024/25 campaign, playing 12 times on loan with the side in all competitions before his recall to Leicester City in February.
Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to welcome Brad to the Club and wishes him every success for this time with the Pirates.
