Bristol Rovers Coach Collaboration event

Bristol Rovers Coach Collaboration event

We are proud to be hosting our very first Bristol Rovers Coach Collaboration event, with a real focus on The Bristol Rovers Way within the Foundation Phase (U9-U12).

Do you have an interest in coaching within an Academy?
Do you want to broaden your understanding of how you can tailor your session to Foundation Phase age groups?
Would you like to gain an insight into how we develop our foundation phase players at Bristol Rovers FC?

The event will be hosted at Lockleaze Sports Centre, where our Academy age groups train across the week. You can sign up to the event here!

Coaches who sign up will be invited by the Head of Academy Coaching to listen in to several presentations led by our Academy staff.

Our Academy manager, Byron Anthony, will share the Academy vision and the role it plays in the wider club.

Lewis Burden, our foundation phase lead coach, who oversees our U9-U12 provision, will then present and brief those about what the evening sessions will look like, including how we focus on each individual within the wider Academy Curriculum.

Coaches in attendance will then observe our U12 training session to see how it is brought to life from plan to pitch, whilst also having the opportunity to see our coaches delivering to our U9-U11 players.

Candidates will then have the opportunity to see the session debrief take place between staff, whilst having the opportunity to ask questions about the session and Academy curriculum.

Back in the room, our Head of Coaching, Damien Broad, alongside Head of Academy Recruitment, Paul Britton, will speak about future collaboration opportunities and give a detailed insight into their own roles in the Academy, sharing the impact and role both of their departments have within the wider club.

Damien Broad, who is hosting the event said: "The evening is a great opportunity for us to open the doors to our local community and offer coaches to see first-hand what an Academy session looks like and how we focus on individual development within our Academy Foundation phase programme.

"We will also see how the local community, when working together, can play its part in developing our Academy and club further, with the presentations delivered giving an insight into our Academy vision and the work going on behind the scenes to develop the players and Academy as a whole."

The site will be open to serve refreshments afterwards and should be a great evening for those in attendance.
