Bristol Rovers is delighted to announce that Brad Young has signed a new four-year contract with the Club.

The goalkeeper has impressed in his first season at the Gas after moving from Leicester City ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, making 27 appearances across all competitions and keeping nine clean sheets.

The 24-year-old has now penned a new deal with Rovers until the summer of 2030.

“I’m buzzing to sign this new contract with the Club,” Young said. “I’ve had a year here now already and I’ve loved every minute of it. Once I broke into the team in late January it feels like things really took off for me here, and I’ve really loved it. I’ve been really grateful for the opportunity.

“We’ve got a brilliant group here. There’s a real togetherness in the team and, in the run at the end of the season, we developed a winning culture as well. We all get on well in the squad and that showed in those last couple of months. You’ve got to have people all together to achieve success and we’re all pulling in the same direction.

“It’s been a big summer for me because my partner and I also recently got engaged, which was really special. I’m grateful for her, and to Bristol Rovers and everyone here for the support, and I’m looking forward to getting going in pre-season again.

“The length of the deal shows a lot of faith in me too. I want to repay that now and take things game by game, keep working hard and hopefully bring some successful times to Bristol Rovers.”

Young made his Rovers debut in a 4-4 draw with Tottenham Hotspur U21s in the Vertu Trophy in August, with the Gas winning on penalties with help from the goalkeeper, who saved spot-kicks from Calum Logan and James Rowswell.

He had to be patient for his first appearance in Sky Bet League Two, making his first start in a 3-2 victory over Newport County in the Severnside derby in September before becoming a regular in the starting XI under manage Steve Evans in early 2026.

Young came in for the Pirates' away defeat against Salford in January and started 21 successive matches in the fourth tier, keeping seven clean sheets in that time, and was a key part of the Rovers team that won eight straight matches in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to congratulate Brad on his new contract with the Club.
