Bristol Rovers captain Alfie Kilgour has been voted the Christophe Duchamp Player Of the Month for August!
Skipper Kilgour, who returned to the Gas in the summer following a short stint with Mansfield Town, was voted by supporters as the men's first team's stand-out performer in the first month of the 2025/26 campaign.
The centre-back received an overwhelming majority of the vote (63 per cent), beating left-back Jack Sparkes (30 per cent) and goalkeeper Luke Southwood (seven per cent) to the inaugural award.
Kilgour was presented with a Christopher Duchamp watch at The Quarters Training Facility in recognition of his achievement and thanked the fans who voted for him in the August award.
"It feels brilliant to be named the Player Of The Month," Kilgour told BRTV. "Obviously, it’s nice to get a little bit of recognition, but ultimately, it’s a team effort as always. There are eleven lads on the pitch and the subs coming on and off, but it’s an honour and long may it continue, so thank you to those who voted.
"They [the supporters] support us through good times and bad. We had a bit of a tough time at the start of the month, and we came good towards the end. So, it’s lovely and it’s nice that they’ve got my back and they support me. Ultimately, I give 110 per cent no matter what."
