Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce that Antony Evans has put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him in BS7 until 2025!
Antony joined Rovers from German side Paderborn 07 on Deadline Day in 2021 and quickly established himself as a key player in Joey Barton's promotion-winning side.
The 23-year-old ended last season with 10 goals and 12 assists to his name, achieving the target he had set himself at the start of the season which was to achieve double figures in both goals and assists. Since joining the club, Antony has become a firm fan favourite among Gasheads who will be delighted that our No.21 has committed his future to Rovers.
Antony's first goal for Rovers came in our 3-0 home victory against Carlisle United in October 2021 and made a habit of scoring from distance last season with his long-range strike against Barrow winning our 'Goal of the Season' award. Antony was among the nominees for our 'Player of the Season' award alongside Connor Taylor and eventual winner James Belshaw.
Joey Barton said:
"We are delighted to secure Antony's services until at least 2025. If we want to progress as a club we have to keep our best players and Antony proved throughout last season how good a player he is. I look forward to watching him continue to improve and help the team in the upcoming season."
Wael Al-Qadi said:
"We're so pleased that Antony has re-signed with us and will continue to be part of this special squad Joey and his staff are building."
