ROVERS COMPLETE DAWSON LOAN SIGNING

13 January 2015

Adam Dawson joins on loan

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke completed his second signing of the week today, bringing in Leicester City midfielder Adam Dawson on loan.

The 22 year old completed a scholarship with Liverpool and on his release signed for Wigan Athletic. He made his senior debut when on loan at Accrington Stanley, in a League Cup tie in August 2012.

He turned out for non-league sides Bacup Borough, FC United of Manchester, Barrow, and Nelson before joining Leicester City in October 2013.

This season Adam has spent time on loan with Notts County and Nuneaton Town. In all he made 13 Vanarama Conference appearances for Nuneaton, the last of which was against AFC Telford on new Year's Day.

Speaking about the midfielder, Darrell said; “Adam is a player who knows the division and his background with Leicester City will stand him in good stead.

“He’s been at Nuneaton this season where he picked up quite a few Man of the Match Awards and did really well.

“When we were preparing reports for our game against Nuneaton his name frequently cropped up as being their danger man, so when he became available we decided to take him on a month’s loan with a view to extending it until the end of the season if all goes well.

“A midfield player, he plays predominantly on the right and gives us another option in an area of the pitch I think we needed to strengthen.

Chairman Nick Higgs added; "I would like to welcome Adam to Bristol Rovers and wish him every success whilst he is with us.

"Adam is an exciting prospect who has played at this level already this season, which will stand him in good stead for the time he is with us.”
