A full guide for Kids and Families visiting The Memorial Stadium can be found HERE

For all families who have been looking into coming to The Mem for the first time, we have written a rough timeline of the day that you can follow to ensure you have a good experience on your first visit!

Prior to the Game

Secure your Tickets:

Firstly, you’ll need to secure tickets for the fixture you intend to come to; you can browse and purchase tickets to our upcoming fixtures HERE. We recommend tickets within the MKJ Group Family Stand, or if you desire a terrace experience, we recommend the Cooling FX Terrace.

Read our Home Fan Guide:

Before your visit to The Mem for the first time, ensure that you read our Home Fan Guide HERE. This will provide you with a comprehensive overview of your day, covering everything from directions to and around the stadium, travel and ticketing.

Matchday

12:30pm – Park up on Gloucester Road:

As The Mem has extremely limited parking, we would recommend parking up off Gloucester Road, as there are many residential streets with free parking. From Gloucester Road, you can then expect a 7–12 minute walk based upon how far down you park:

If Gloucester Road is busy, you can also try Muller Road or Kellaway Avenue, both of which are a 12–15 minute walk to the stadium.

1pm – Visit the Club Shop:

When you then get to the stadium, visiting the club shop will provide a great start to your day! Each matchday we run a kids' competition, which you will be able to ask about in the shop. Also, you can pick up one of our Kids' Activity Packs, and a colouring page for free. Don’t forget to then purchase some Rovers merchandise to get you into the spirit of the day!

1:20pm – Head to the FanZone:

Then, make your way to the FanZone. Although this is not a designated family area, it has a great atmosphere and lots of entertainment for all the family. You will be able to catch some live music, grab a drink and food, or check out the family-friendly Thatchers Bar.

2pm – Head to the Family Area:

After this, if you have purchased MKJ Family Stand or Cooling FX Terrace tickets, head to turnstiles 1-8 at the end of the FanZone. From here, you will be able to enter the stadium and head down to the family area. As well as more food and drinks, there will be various activities, such as face painting and an inflatable goal. You can also meet Captain Gas!

2:50pm – Take your Seats:

Both the MKJ Family Stand and Cooling FX Terrace are very close to the family area, and easily accessible, so you shouldn’t have many issues in finding your place! However, if you do become slightly lost, either refer to the map on our matchday guide or ask a steward and they will point you in the right direction.

3pm – KICK-OFF:

Enjoy the game! Up the Gas!

3:45pm – Half-Time:

Help yourselves to a snack or half-time refreshments from the family area or FanZone to get you ready for the second-half!

4pm – Second-Half Kick-Off:

#UTG

4:45pm – End of the Match:

After you hopefully watch the Gas get a big win, it’ll be time to leave the stadium. Usually, crowds clear quickly, but perhaps wait 5-10 minutes if you don’t want to get caught up in a crowd. Travel safely back home!

Simon and Andrew's Visit from Canada

FAN-03258.jpg

"A truly amazing experience for our six year old son Simon, myself and my step dad Paul.

"I contacted Ethan to enquire about the Family Zone and if there was a box for Simon to stand on so he could see the game on 26th August against Wycombe. I am a Bristol boy and lifelong Gas fan who moved to Canada 22 years ago, Simon was born in Ontario, Canada and was only a day old when he got to listen to his first game in his crib via iFollow. He had his first game at the Mem when he was only 22 months old and has no recollection of the game when Joey was the boss of Fleetwood Town. Simon loves playing soccer as he calls it in Canada.

"Ethan asked us to meet him at the Mem before the game, we truly did not expect the experience we had! Ethan said we were going to meet the players as they arrived! I bought the game programme to hopefully get signatures from the players for Simon. However Ethan had a shirt for them to sign!

FAN-03259.jpg

"We waited for the team to arrive and wow, it was incredible, photos, signatures and chat with some of them and a great chat with Joey. Everyone took their time to welcome us. My Step dad and I were gobsmacked and I was so excited to get to meet with my favourite player #21 Antony Evans. We had an incredible experience amongst the wonderful Gas family. The game result was not the best, but the day was so much fun.

"My late father Mike played for the reserves in the mid sixties for a couple of seasons, imparted his love of the team on me and now Simon has the Bristol Rovers bug.

"We'll be watching on iFollow seeing the players we go to meet close up and in person, until the next time we both back in Bristol on our holidays! Thank you Ethan. #UTG" Andrew, on his and Simon's experience.

Hi everyone! I’m Captain Gas, the official mascot of Bristol Rovers Football Club. If I’m not hanging about with the team, or searching for buried treasure, you can find me out and about The Memorial Stadium. On a matchday, I like to hang out with the club’s mascots, as well as all the Gasheads!

I am always meeting loads of new faces in the community, as well as a number of more familiar ones. So, if you see me, don’t be afraid to come over and say hi - I am always more than happy to meet my fans! So come over, give me a high five and show me some of your best dance moves, and maybe we can have a kick about together.

You can follow me on twitter @CaptainGas_ where you can keep up to date with everything I’m getting up to. You can also tweet me there or send in your pictures of us together.
