NEW DEAL FOR WILL PUDDY

19 June 2016

Bristol Rovers are happy to announce that Will Puddy has agreed a new deal with the club.

Will joined Rovers, on non-contract terms, on 11th August 2014 as emergency cover when Steve Mildenhall was unavailable for the game at Barnet and youth team goalkeeper Kieran Preston was on international duty with Scotland.

He made his debut at The Hive a day later and remained with the club for the remainder of the season, appearing in 15 league games and starting in the Play-Off Final against Grimsby Town at Wembley, having signed a permanent deal midway through the season.

Last season, Puddy was hampered by injury and only played 50 minutes for the first team when he started in goal away at Dagenham & Redbridge.

On agreeing his new deal with the club, Will told us "I would like to say that it was an easy decision to extend my stay with Bristol Rovers.

"It's an ambitious club to be a part of which is important to me and I can't wait to get back going again."

Puddy becomes the ninth player from the promotion winning squad to agree a new contract with the club, following teammates Steve Mildenhall, Daniel Leadbitter and Billy Bodin, James Clarke, Lee Mansell, Mark McChrystal, Ellis Harrison and Cristian Montano.
