JAMES CLARKE AGREES NEW DEAL

10 June 2016

Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce that James Clarke has agreed a new deal with the club.

The versatile defender was Darrell Clarke's first signing since returning to the Football League after his contract came to an end at Woking.

On agreeing his new deal with the club, James [Clarke] told us "I'm pleased to have signed this new deal with the club, last season the spirit in and around the place was the best I've ever experienced in my career.

"League One will be a step up for everyone, but it's one we take take together and I cannot wait to get started."

Clarke was ever present in the Rovers side last season making an impressive 40 appearances in his debut season in the Football League and it was his consistency that drew plaudits from club Chairman Steve Hamer "James has never let the side down when selected, his commitment is there to be seen whenever he pulls on a Rovers shirt.

"It's another firm brick in the building of our squad for next season"

James Clarke becomes the fourth player from the promotion winning squad to agree a new contract with the club, following teammates Steve Mildenhall, Daniel Leadbitter and Billy Bodin.
