Ligament damage confirmed
Alan Gow underwent a scan yesterday which confirmed that he has suffered ligament damage to his ankle. The injury was picked up during the first half of Bristol Rovers' 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe on Tuesday night.
The striker was taken to hospital amid initial fears the ankle could be fractured, but X-Rays revealed that was not the case.
Gow is now expected to be out for around six weeks.
Manager John Ward said: "This is the best we could have hoped for really as there is no bone damage or anything else.
"It is still a blow for us as he was fitting in to the team really well, and the fans and his team mates saw what a good player he was.
"But we have to move on, we have some good players in that position, and a much stronger squad now, so we will just have to try to continue to pick up points until he is back."
