A CHAT WITH CLARKSON AND BEARDSLEY

24 April 2014

Comments from this morning's press call

Today we spoke to David Clarkson and Chris Beardsley ahead of our crucial relegation clash against Wycombe on Saturday.

Both players feel it is important to try and treat the game like any other and concentrate on the 90 minutes of football.

Here is a brief extract of what they had to say.

Clarkson: “We have to keep our spirits high, we know what we have to do and hopefully we are on our way to doing that.

“We know how important this game is, and we have to make sure we are ready mentally and physically.

“We have to try and treat it like any other game, and be as relaxed and composed as possible.

“It is going to be a hard game away from home, but we are hoping to get the three points and concentrate on our own game.

“It would be great to score the goals that kept Rovers up, but it doesn’t matter who scores them, as long as we do stay up. “

Beardsley: “You should be trying to win every game of football, and Saturday is no different for both teams.

“It is still worth three points, but we are now at the point where there are less games after it to put it right, so that is where the added pressure comes from. We have to do whatever we can to win the game.

“You cannot hide from the fact that the consequences are big following the result, but you have to stay focused and try and concentrate on that 90 minutes of football.

“We are the ones who wear the shirt and we are the ones who can make something happen.”

The full interviews will be on Gas Player and You Tube later today.
