AWARD FOR TYLER

25 February 2015

Youth player wins award

Congratulations are in order for Tyler Lyttle, who has been named in ‘The 11’, a competition run by League Football Education (LFE) to recognise apprentice achievements and replace the Apprentice of the Month award.

The competition is aligned closer to apprentice reviews which are conducted by Regional staff of the LFE at 12 week intervals over the course of the season.

Each of the Regional Officers make judgements based on:
  • Academic progress
  • Football progress
  • Other factors - including participation in external initiatives eg community work or overcoming adversity of some form.
Tyler was first spotted by former head of Academy Tom Curtis, playing for England Schoolboys. He was released by Wolverhampton Wanderers and took time out to concentrate on his studies for a year before resuming his football education with Rovers, whom he joined as a scholar last summer.

The son of former Nottingham and West Bromwich Albion player Des, Tyler has been a regular in our U-18 side this season.
