ROVERS END 2016 WITH JOINT BEST HOME RECORD IN THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE!

1 January 2017

2016 will certainly be a year to remember for Rovers fans for a variety of reasons, but a particular highlight of the past twelve months has been the impressive home form shown by Darrell Clarke's men at the Mem.

Out of all the EFL clubs, Rovers hold the joint best home record of 2016, sharing the impressive feat with League One counterparts Bradford City, even though the Gas have played three fewer home games!

In total, Rovers picked up an impressive seventeen home wins over the past calendar year at home, amassing 55 points in the process.

Since our promotion to Sky Bet League One, Rovers have continued to build on their formidable home form, securing seven wins, three draws and just three defeats in the thirteen games played at the Mem this campaign, scoring twenty-four goals in front of the Rovers faithful.

Rovers sealed their third home win on the bounce on New Year's Eve with a two-nil victory over AFC Wimbledon and head into 2017 with home fixtures against Northampton Town and Swindon Town in the month of January.

And as we reported last week, home attendances are also on the rise, with the average match day crowd at the Mem heading towards the 10,000 mark!
