REMINDER: MINUTES APPLAUSE FOR RAY MABBUTT AT TONIGHT'S GAME

15 November 2016

This evening, prior to our match against Crawley Town, there will be a one minute’s applause in memory of former Rovers player Ray Mabbutt who passed away on 2nd November.

Ray made 394 league appearances for the club and scored 27 goals in the process between 1957/58 and 1968/69 and was one of the most popular players to don the blue and white quarters.

Tuesday is the day of Ray’s funeral and the club feels that this is an appropriate occasion to remember one of its great servants.

Ray, who was eighty years old at the time of his death following a heart attack, will be missed by everyone at Bristol Rovers Football Club and we send our condolences to his family and friends.

We will be inviting Ray’s family to a future home game, when we will pay tribute to him in our matchday programme.
