LOAN WATCH: JAMIE LUCAS

21 November 2016

The striker was the only Rovers loanee in action this weekend, as the youngster was involved in Boreham Wood's victory in the National League.

Lucas came off the bench to net Boreham Wood's second goal in their 2-0 victory over Southport, lifting the Hertfordshire outfit to 8th position in the National League.

The striker has seen his loan spell with Boreham Wood plagued with injury, after spending time on the sidelines after having an appendix operation.

"It is good to get back to action after missing games through injury," said the striker.

"It was important that I recovered properly from the injury, which I have now done and I'm looking forward to getting some more games under my belt during my loan spell."

Following his return from injury, the forward has been limited to making appearances from the bench, with the striker admitting that it has been difficult for him to break back into the side at the Meadow Park.

"It has been hard to get back into the side as we've been doing so well,” said the forward.

"Coming on during the first half, allowed me to get some more minutes under my belt and a goal will hopefully help me break back into the starting eleven."

Elsewhere, Ryan Broom missed out on Bath City's 2-2 draw against Chelmsford on Saturday, as the winger recovers from an eye injury sustained in Bath City's midweek victory over Wealdstone United.
