John Marquis signed for Rovers in July 2022 following the expiration of his contract at Lincoln City.
The centre-forward started his career at Millwall and made his professional debut in 2009 against Rovers in Milwall's 2-0 defeat at The Mem.
John left Milwall in 2016 leaving The Lions for Doncaster where he made 134 appearances, scoring 64 goals. In July 2019, John left Doncaster for Portsmouth where he stayed for two-and-a-half years until departing for Lincoln City on a short-term deal in January 2022. Following the expiry of his contract with The Imps, John joined the Gas on a deal lasting until 2024.
