Young and pacy forward Harvey Saunders joined the Gas in summer of 2021.
A former Fleetwood teammate of Sam Finley and Paul Coutts, Saunders had impressed under Joey Barton during his time in Lancashire.
Joining the Gas at 23, Saunders has shown pedigree in a number of Papa John's Trophy appearances while at Fleetwood, but his roots are far from the EFL.
Initially playing Sunday League while working full-time, Saunders progressed through a number of non-league clubs before joining Darlington in the National League North.
From there, Saunders received a superb grounding in the game before capturing a move up the leagues to Fleetwood Town. Loan spells back to Darlington and Hartlepool followed, before Saunders got his big break with the Cod Army.
The energetic forward made 29 appearances in the 2020/21 season, finding the net on 8 occasions.
Barton secured the services of Saunders following the expiration of his deal at Fleetwood.
