Nick Anderton joined the Gas as part of a quartet of signings, in Barton's first move in the transfer market with Rovers.

Joining following a spell at Carlisle, Nick Anderton brings versatility and leadership traits to the Rovers setup.

Featuring as a left-back in most cases, but also possessing enough aerial presence to play in centre-back, Anderton provides flexibility across defence.

Anderton possesses experience with a number of club's across England, including Blackpool, Barrow and Carlisle, where he featured most recently.

Anderton's spell with Carlisle was promising, leading a strong play-off for his push for his side in the 2020/21 season, with the captain's armband round his upper arm.
