Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce the continuation of Gascast commentary on all iFollow home fixtures for the foreseeable future...
The work of the Gascast Podcast will be familiar to many Gasheads, not just to those tuning in for their iFollow coverage over the past few months, with also their podcast, racking up 105,863 total listens since it was founded in 2015.
Since stepping into the world of live commentary, the team have developed consistently, partnering with various Rovers personnel to provide entertaining insight into the Gas' on-field displays.
So what is Gascast?
Gascast is a voice for the Bristol Rovers community, with their podcast a standout in those run by supporters across the EFL. Their website also features in-depth previews on each of the Gas' opposition, as well as more broad opinion pieces on all things Rovers.
The Podcast has moved from strength to strength over recent campaigns, offering views on pivotal fixtures in the calendar, discussing changes at the club including staff and players, and securing exclusive interviews with a host of current and former players. In the past year, episodes have included former-Rovers players, Chris Lines, Stuart Sinclair, Nathan Blissett and Jake Gosling. They've also spoken with key personnel around the club including the Gas Girls, CEO Martyn Starnes, Commercial Director Tom Gorringe, Lance Cook and CEO of the Community Trust, Adam Tutton.
The podcast also sponsored youngster Zain Walker at the beginning of the current season!
Why do they do what they do?
In their own words, the Gascast said, "As life-long Gasheads we created GasCast to provide all Rovers fans with a platform where we can give our own honest opinions on the club we all love. Through the highs (and lows!), we publish new episodes at least once a fortnight and look to provide fans with a fans view of both on and off the pitch matters".

For iFollow coverage, the Gascast team take to the airwaves approximately 5 minutes before kick-off, with match passes available through the iFollow section of the club site.
On the airwaves from now on...
Gascast debuted live on iFollow when the Gas took on AFC Rochdale at the Mem at the end of January and were joined for expert insight by Byron Anthony. Since then, they have been accompanied by Lee Mansell and most recently, Alex Rodman!
On continuing their commentating endeavours, Gascast said, "The opportunity to commentate on live League One games has been a big step up for us in terms of audience and pressure, but it's something we have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in, and an experience that we are learning a lot from.
"Live broadcasting comes with its share of mishaps and perils, but also some brilliant moments that we have loved commentating on during the lockdown period. We thank the club for having faith in us to produce a style of commentary that we feel represents the Bristol Rovers community, and for supporting us as independent fan content creators."
