Rovers Awarded EFL Family Excellence Award!

11 September 2020

We are delighted to confirm that the Club has received the EFL Family Excellence Award for the 4th year running.

The Club was able to improve on the scores received during the 2018/19 season, with areas such as retail, refreshments and staff engagement all highlighted with high scores.

Each club received an individual score, based on the assessment of all areas of the match day experience from a mystery visit that took place during 2019/20 campaign.

Rovers scored 8.7/10 in the report, which ranked us 4th in League One and 15th overall across the EFL.

The 'friendly and welcoming' environment at the Mem was highlighted in the report, alongside the visible commitment to engage with the next generation of supporters.

Commercial Director Tom Gorringe commented, "We are delighted to receive this recognition from the EFL, as it highlights our focus on enhancing the match day experience for fans visiting the Mem. The figures represent a significant improvement on our previous scores and our overall standing within the EFL is really impressive given the limitations of The Mem."

"It's pleasing to see our commitment to engaging with a younger fanbase recognised with more projects planned to increase the Club's facilities in this area, such as the current Crowdfunding campaign to create a new area for Young Pirates on a match day. The support for this campaign has been brilliant so far and we would like to thank all of the supporters that have pledged to that campaign already."

“I would like to thank all of the staff that contribute to the welcoming environment on a match day and throughout the week. We will continue to work hard to uphold these high scores and prepare to welcome fans back to the Mem when it's deemed safe to do so."
