The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Jack Mesure as Assistant Manager ahead of the 2020/21 Sky Bet League One season.
Mesure made his first steps into professional football coaching with Crystal Palace, working alongside Ben Garner in the Eagles youth setup, where he spent the next 10 years. Mesure had an impressive rise all the way through the age groups eventually coaching the under 23 team.
Players to have come through the Crystal Palace academy set up throughout this time include Wilfried Zaha, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Rovers striker, James Daly.
In October of 2018, Mesure made the move further into London to join the academy setup at Chelsea FC, after being headhunted for the post by the South-West London club. For the past 2 seasons, he has coached some of the most exciting young players in the country working with the under 15's to under 23's.
Mesure now reunites with Garner at Bristol Rovers, stepping into the role of assistant manager at the club, prior to the squad reporting back for pre-season training.
Speaking about the appointment, Manager Ben Garner said, "I'm absolutely delighted to be able to bring Jack to the club. He is someone I have known for a long time and worked very closely with previously. We share very similar beliefs and ideas about the game plus Jack also has the personal values and characteristics that will enhance the strong staff structure that we already have in place.
"Jack is an outstanding coach. He is passionate about what we are trying to build here at Rovers and his work ethic, dedication, and expertise will help us on that journey. I would like to thank Neil Bath and Chelsea Football Club for their cooperation in us being able to appoint Jack ahead of the 2020/2021 season."
On joining the Gas, Mesure said, "I'm so excited to get started at this great club. The manager has told me so many positive things about Rovers, the plans moving forwards, the people at the club and the fans. I hope everyone associated with the club is safe and well following this lockdown period and I cannot wait for the first game in front of the Gasheads. I look forward to seeing you all at the Memorial Stadium."
