Emirates FA Cup Match Preview: Coventry City v Bristol Rovers

13 January 2020

All the info ahead of our Emirates FA Cup replay at Coventry City.

Rovers head to St Andrew's on Tuesday evening looking to book a place in the Fourth Round of the competition for the first time since the 2007/08 campaign.

The Gas will be looking to bounce back from a defeat on Saturday to Doncaster Rovers, where two late goals ruined the chances of Rovers picking up a handy point at BS7.

Attention now turns to our 6th outing in the Emirates FA Cup this season, travelling to face a Coventry City side that has hit form in recent weeks.

The winner of the replay will be rewarded with a Fourth Round tie at home to Birmingham City.

Coach's Preview: Kevin Maher spoke to the press on Monday to offer his pre-match views heading into the showdown at St Andrew's on Tuesday evening.

Opposition: Coventry are unbeaten in five outings in both the league and cup - drawing 1-1 at home to MK Dons on the weekend just gone. The Sky Blues recent good form has seen them climb to 4th in the Sky Bet League One standings, three points off Rotherham in 1st place. In terms of dangermen for Coventry City, Matt Godden bagged two hat-tricks in consecutive games over the festive period against both Wycombe and Tranmere - taking his tally to 10 goals for the season.

Last Time We Met: The sides drew 2-2 in the original Third Round fixture at the beginning of the month, in what was an entertaining cup tie. Watch back on the match recap below...
