Club Marks Milestone Season Ticket Sales Figure with Donation of Tickets to the NHS

21 April 2020

Earlier this week, the club surpassed the 1,000 figure for Season Tickets sold, a fantastic showing of support from the fanbase, given the turbulent times felt by everybody.

To mark reaching the target, the club is donating 1,000 match tickets for the 2020/21 campaign to NHS staff - as a show of appreciation to those working on the frontline fighting the current COVID-19 crisis.

Speaking about the pledge to donate the match tickets, CEO Martyn Starnes said, "The donation of the match tickets is just a small way of saying thank you to those going above and beyond to keep the nation safe during this outbreak.

"We have heard of many Rovers fans, as well as people local to Bristol, working on the frontline to combat this disease.

"We would like to place on record our thanks to our fanbase, who have continued to support the club in what are testing times and we're encouraged that Season Ticket sales are in a healthy position in comparison to previous years.

"We again relay that everybody should stay home to aid the fight against this virus and we hope that we will be in a position to enjoy football matches back at the Memorial Stadium as soon as it's safe to do so."

Sarah Pryer, Above & Beyond’s Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Bristol Rovers to help say a huge thank you to NHS staff at Bristol city centre hospitals.

“Staff are hugely grateful to the community for all their offers of support and I’m sure they will look forward to attending matches next season.”

Details on how the tickets will be made available to NHS staff will follow on the announcement of the fixtures for the 2020/21 campaign.
