Match Preview: Bristol Rovers v Portsmouth

25 October 2019

The lowdown on this weekend's encounter with Portsmouth at the Memorial Stadium.

Rovers face Portsmouth on Saturday expecting to rebound from Tuesday night's display against Bolton Wanderers. The Gas will need the full backing of the fans as they take on a tricky Portsmouth side.

The Memorial Stadium will host a side five points behind Rovers in the league at this stage, but a team in a resurgence after a sluggish start to their campaign. They continued said resurgence through a victory over Lincoln on Tuesday, with John Marquis' first-half effort the only goal of the game.

Paper Talk: Pompey boss Kenny Jackett set out the clear goal for his side ahead of their arrival at BS7, stating he expects his team to build on a victory in midweek.
