Emirates FA Cup Preview: Barnet v Bristol Rovers

9 November 2018

All the pre-match content ahead of Sunday's Emirates FA Cup tie at Barnet.

Rovers begin their Emirates FA Cup journey at the Hive on Sunday - as they travel to face National League outfit, Barnet.

Darrell Clarke's side will be looking to carry forward momentum from last weekend's victory over Blackpool, as the Gas recorded a 3-0 victory on the road at Bloomfield Road.

Ollie Clarke's brace last weekend led to the Rovers midfielder gaining a prize slot in the EFL team of the week, while captain Tom Lockyer was selected in the latest Wales squad, carrying forward the positivity from last Saturday's win.

Sunday's game is third away fixture on the spin for Rovers, as the squad head to North London hoping to secure a place in the hat for the second round draw of this season's Emirates FA Cup.

Darrell's View: Speaking on Friday morning at the Mem, the Manager offered his thoughts heading into Sunday's contest.

Player's View: Michael Kelly was also on press duty to preview the Emirates FA Cup tie and insisted that he's looking forward to experiencing the famous competition for the first time.

Opposition: Barnet currently sit mid-table in the National Leauge and have made a steady start to the 2018/19 season following their relegation from the EFL. Sunday's opponents head into the tie on the back of two defeats at home in the National League and have scored 18 goals in the league so far this campaign.

Last Time We Met: The two sides last faced each other in January 2016 at The Hive. On that occasion, Barnet recorded a narrow 1-0 victory thanks to a Gavin Hoye goal. In cup encounters, Rovers have enjoyed better fortunes against the Bees, winning the last Emirates FA Cup fixture 1-0 thanks to a Rickie Lambert strike - a game that Chris Lines featured in back in January 2008.

Tickets: Advance tickets are no longer available from the club's outlets at the Memorial Stadium - but tickets will be available on the day of the fixture at The Hive. Adult tickets for the game are priced £10 for full ticket prices click HERE.
