In the latest instalment of our series of interviews with former players, Gary Mabbutt talks to Keith Brookman about his experiences of playing for Rovers and gives a detailed account of his football career as a whole.
Gary made over one-hundred-and-twenty appearances for the club during the late 70's and early 80's, before joining Tottenham Hotspur in 1982.
During his sixteen year spell at White Hart Lane, Gary was part of the side that won the UEFA Cup in 1984 and captained the north-London side to victory in the 1991 FA Cup final against Nottingham Forest.
In the interview, Gary speaks of his pride at being awarded the Harry Bamford Trophy in a visit to the Memorial Stadium earlier this season and talks about his experiences of representing his country.
