CHESTERFIELD F.C MATCH PREVIEW

25 November 2016

Rovers head to the Proact Stadium to take on Chesterfield United this Saturday in SkyBet League One.

Team News: Rovers will be without defender Jake Clarke-Salter, who's arm injury sustained in Tuesday's game required surgery this week.

Darrell's View: "Danny was my Manager at Hartlepool and he's a great bloke and a thoroughly good Manager, so Chesterfield are in good hands and they will be buoyed by their win on Tuesday night."

"You look at Chesterfield and they lost seven games in a row earlier in the season, but they had a great win last time out against MK Dons, so they will be confident heading into Saturday."

"They have a good squad of players and a fantastic Manager in Danny, who has managed over one-thousand games."

Opposition: Chesterfield currently lie in 23rd place in SkyBet League One and head into Saturday's game following a dramatic 3-2 victory over MK Dons on Tuesday evening at Stadium MK

Dangerman - Jay O'Shea: The versatile winger is currently enjoying a rich vein of form, scoring four goals in his last five outings.

Starting his career in his native Ireland, spells at Bray Wanderers and Gallaway United attracted O'Shea a move to Birmingham in 2009.

After struggling to break to into the first-team setup at St Andrew's, the midfielder had brief spells on loan at Middlesborough, Stevenage and Port Vale, before a permanent move to MK Dons in 2011.

The twenty-eight-year-old originally arrived at the Proact Stadium on loan in November 2012, before making the switch permanent in January 2013.

O'Shea played at Wembley in Chesterfield's defeat to Peterborough United in the Football League Trophy back in 2014 and has since made over one-hundred-and-seventy appearances for the club.

Last Time Out: Rovers suffered defeat last time they travelled to Chesterfield in February 2014.

Sam Morsy put Chesterfield ahead early on, but his goal was cancelled out by left-back Lee Brown midway through the first half.

Goals either side of the break by Ollie Banks and Eoin Doyle meant that Rovers were defeated 3-1 on the day.

Tickets: Supporters can Pay on the Day at the Proact Stadium.
